Windows updates are important, but sometimes they happen at inconvenient times. Windows 10 makes it possible to pause or disable automatic updates, giving you more control over when the updates occur. If you’re using Windows 10 Home, you are only able to pause updates for up to 35 days. If you’re using Windows 10 Pro, you are given the option to permanently disable automatic updates by editing your group policy. In this video, Mike will show you both ways of pausing and/or disabling updates on both Windows 10 Home and Pro.

"Configure Automatic Updates" does not appear on my list, any other option!?
Thank you 🙏
Almost every time windows does an update, my computer runs slower. When I first got my computer it was fast and now it drags.
Thanks, very useful! I have a limited data usage network, so this helps me out a lot.
"keeping bad guys out of our system"
I totally understand that ! But when Windows 10 update is getting even worst that those bad guys then no, I prefer bad guys.
My windows 10 update lastnight.after that i got this blue screen .then theres a qr code on my screen that tell me what to do because of the error that cause by the updates so i try to to do the trouble shoot and uninstall the windows update on safe mood. My question is,do i really have to disable updates?im worried that. nextime i will experience the same problem again on the next update. Thank u in advance
Nice video
This guy is the father I never had
can u tell windows update to check every 30 days? and leave it at that setting?
there is no group policy in my win10 Home to find. Is it any other way to disable updates?
We do not need Windows Updates
👍👍👍thank you
There is no way to turn off updates at all. Most it does, turns off updates only temporarily, but system will default itself for updates anyway. The only way to turn off updates is to cut it off from Internet completely, however then Win10 will start nagging to connect it to Internet for updates.
God I hate win10.
Thanks!!
Thnx..You Helped a Lot
very smooth tutorial thnx for that … just two questions, if i disabled windows updates:
1- is that means means i completely blocked my pc from getting any kind of updates (recommended, major, etc…) ?
2- can i still update my pc through update packages downloaded manually from Microsoft?
Wow thanks, i always got told it was impossible to turn them off forever.
None of this works.
I agree 80 of what he said but some updates for drivers are just meant yu to buy new stuff and thanks a lot.
Brilliant video. Thank you!
Just Perfect. Thank You! ❤️
brilliant explanation
Heya Mike. My video card went out on my laptop. No cash to fix since the epidemic. Every time I get an update I have to rollback my PC because it wants to update graphics drivers. The last time my sound also stopped working and everything on my PC got super slow. This really helped a lot. At least I can disable it for 35 days each time. Thanks again.
Amazing tutorial, perfect!
Thanks! Nice and clear~
thanksir
There's only one way to truly shut WinX updates off, and it works for all versions of that detestable O/S:
You need to write a VBS script to turn them off, along with two services, then you need another VBS script, to turn them back on, and re-enable the two services, you turned off.
Not difficult to do, and it completely hides your computer from Microsnot, so they can't override it.
I have had to uninstall windows 10 updates due to a mayor mayor mayor inconvenience…the windows update disables my administrator password! I spent 3 hours total fixing the computer to my settings…
Wow this is the best how to- tutorials I have ever seen. Even a person who never touched a computer in their lives can follow your step by step instructions . Kudus.
finally my computer wont break because it was forced to update
thanks!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH
Sir , which screen recorder u have used to make this video sir….🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
This is such a great tutorial, very clear, very precise and so easy to follow for a computer noob like me. Thanks a bunch Mike, you're the MVP!
Great, you would think, but (a Big But) somehow windows calls home & Microsoft overrides your group policy setting & it gets turned back on again. So you have to keep on top of it. I have been doing this since windows 10 was released & automatic update keeps coming back.
Using old 32bit 32gb windows wants to use more storage then it has. Cant believe it hasn't crash yet with 66mbs left.
This was really helpful and straight forward so thank you so much for the video👍🏻👍🏻
I also just subscribed to your Channel.
Because I like the way you explain things clearly and slowly.
